『私たちは柔和でありましょう-』本多一米師
Let Us Be Gentle by Pastor Ichibei Honda
Jesus said, “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). What comes to your mind, when you think of the word “gentle” or “meek”? The first two beatitudes are mostly inward: Humble recognition that one is poor in spirit and to mourn over one’s sinful condition before God. However, this third beatitude deals with how one relates outwardly with other people. Gentleness is the natural and appropriate expression of genuine humility toward others. Through our relationship with Jesus, we can learn His humble heart and gentle ways (Matthew 11:29).
「柔和な人たちは、さいわいである、彼らは地を受けつぐであろう」とイエス様が言われました（マタイ５章５節）。あなたは、「優しい」「柔和」という言葉を聞いて、何を思い浮かべますか？最初の２つの「さいわい」は、主に内向的なものです。自分が心の貧しい者であることを謙虚に認識し、神の前で自分の罪深い状態を嘆くことです。しかし、この第３の「幸いである」は外に向かって、他の人々とどのように関わるかについて述べています。柔和であることは、他者に対する真に謙遜な、自然で適切な表現です。イエス様との関係と通して、私たちは彼のへりくだった心と柔和な生き方を学ぶことが出来ます（マタイ１１章２９節）。
