A Church Pleasing to God (7): Enjoys Fellowship with God

The first church that began on the Day of Pentecost, devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship. Fellowship in the original Greek Scripture is the word “koinonia”, which is derived from the word koinos, which very literally means common, in the sense of being shared by all. We share in common our faith in Christ and thus are brought into fellowship with one another. As Christians, our relationship with God is secure because we are made children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. However, our fellowship with God is hindered by sin, and thus we are exhorted to continue to walk in God’s light and confess our sins to Him. When we do, we are promised that He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), thus enjoying continual fellowship with Him and others in Christ.
ペンテコステの日に始まった初代教会は、使徒たちの教えと交わりに専念しました。ギリシャ語の原典では「交わり」は「コイノニア」という言葉で、これはコイノスという言葉に由来し、万人が共有するものという意味があります。私たちは、キリストへの信仰を共有することで、互いに交わりを持つようになるのです。クリスチャンである私たちは、イエス・キリストを信じる信仰によって神の子とされたので、神との関係は確保されています。しかし、神との交わりは罪によって妨げられるので、私たちは神の光の中を歩み続け、神に罪を告白するよう勧められています。そうすれば、主は私たちの罪を赦し、すべての不義から私たちをきよめてくださることを約束されています（第一ヨハネの手紙１章９節）。それにより、主や他のキリストにある人々との継続的な交わりを楽しむことができるのです。
