“Nathanael and Philip: Jesus, You Are the Son of God!”

For this message, we will look at Philip and Nathanael who were also a part of the specially chosen 12 disciples of Jesus. Philip and Nathanael’s first encounter with Jesus is recorded for us in John 1:43-51. In this passage of Scripture, we do not get too much information concerning Philip, but each time he is mentioned in the Gospel of John, we get a greater sense of his character and life of faith in Jesus. On the other hand, Nathanael and his character are described in detail in this same passage of Scripture. We will see how each of them came to believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
このメッセージでは、イエス様が特別に選ばれた１２人の弟子の一員でもあったピリポとナタナエルについて見ていきます。ピリポとナタナエルがイエス様と初めて出会った様子は、ヨハネによる福音書１章４３節から５１節に記されています。この聖書箇所では、ピリポについてあまり多くの情報は得られませんが、ヨハネの福音書で彼が言及されるたびに、彼の性格やイエス様への信仰の生き方がより深く理解できるようになります。一方、ナタナエルとその性格については、この聖書の箇所でも詳しく述べられています。それぞれがどのようにしてイエス様が神の子であると信じるに至ったのかを見られます。
