The Gospel According to Luke: There Will Be No More Gloom

Date: Sunday, December 13, 2020

Series Description:

The book called Luke in the Bible, was written by a Gentile believer named Luke, who was a close associate of the Apostle Paul. He set out to carefully investigate the truth concerning Jesus Christ, using the eyewitness accounts of those who were with and knew Jesus and His ministry. His intent in writing this Gospel was so that his readers would know the truth regarding Jesus and what they have been taught concerning Him. It is our hope in studying this Gospel, that we too would better understand the truth concerning Jesus, so that we may better know Him and make Him known to others.

Sermon Description:

Also righteousness will be the belt around His hips, and faithfulness the belt around His waist.

(Isaiah 11:5)

The above verse is a part of the Scripture passage we will be looking at this Sunday during our third Advent Sunday worship service. The verse is a prophecy pointing to the promised Messiah, who is the fruitful Branch. What comfort this verse brings us in knowing that the One sent to judge the world is adorned with righteousness and faithfulness! How we all long for and desire to see righteousness and faithfulness upon this earth in those who have authority over us, as well as in ourselves. Jesus, the promised Messiah, as the righteous and faithful Judge and King leads us to live in His righteousness and to be able to remain faithful in our commitments to God and in our relationships with one another. Please prayerfully prepare yourself for the worship service as we will see more about this awesome work of God in and through Jesus the Messiah.
