Our new message series is "Growth Comes From Being Healthy." We will be looking at what it means to be healthy in all aspects of our life: beginning with our faith and relationship with God, our spiritual health, and then with our physical, mental, emotional, and relational well-being. The starting point for this study is to understand and acknowledge our current state of health, and then to desire and work toward change for the better. May we seek the Lord together in being healthy and fruitful people!
We live in such a whirlwind society, going and moving from one activity to the next, and if we are not actually on our feet, our minds and eyes are constantly bombarded by information through the media and "screen time." This week, we want to look more specifically into when and how we rest, which has a great bearing upon our rhythm and balance in life. Rest is important for us because we are limited and need margin in our lives: margin to handle life with all its intricacies. Rest as prescribed in the Bible by God has to do with slowing down and enjoying quality time with God, which ultimately leads to peace, wisdom, clarity of mind, and focus in life.
