Series Description:
God promised that He would give His Spirit to His people. Jesus reiterated this promise to His disciples, and encouraged them to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit to be given to them. Because the Holy Spirit is so key to our lives as followers of Jesus Christ, our new message series will be called 'Spirit of God Lift Me Up'. We will look at Scripture to learn more about the Holy Spirit’s powerful work throughout history and in the world today and in our lives.
Sermon Description:
Today, we will look at the promise of the Messiah, the fulfillment of that promise through Jesus' birth, and the blessing we receive through faith in Him. In a time of a lot of bad news, the promise of a Messiah was good news for the people. In the midst of gloom, here was a message that brought bright hope. In the midst of conflict, here was a message of peace. In the midst of injustice, here was the promise of a King that would rule with justice and righteousness, who would never be overthrown. This is still good news for us today.
