Series Description: All authority is given to Jesus. He is our Lord. The Book of Hebrews goes into detail regarding Jesus' superiority over all things. HE is greater than all, and we need to affirm and live out this reality as His disciples.
Sermon Description: One of the age old questions is "How can a loving God allow suffering in this world?" For anyone of us, including believers of Jesus Christ, unless we view suffering from a perspective that understands why there is suffering in this world, and knows how God has dealt with suffering in this world, will become disillusioned. The author of Hebrews is writing to severely persecuted Jewish believers. It is to them that he points out the fact that Jesus as our High Priest is sympathetic to our weaknesses, knows our sufferings, and provides grace and mercy to all who draw near to Him. Thus, whatever time of trouble we find ourselves in; in the midst of weakness, turmoil, suffering, sickness, weariness, restlessness, loneliness, anxiety, and persecution, we can turn to Jesus for comfort and peace, grace and mercy, because He cares for us!
