The Joy and Peace that Comes from Being Forgiven by Pastor Ichibei Honda
As part of the Apostles’ Creed, we declare: “I believe in the forgiveness of sins”. In other words, we believe that God forgives us of our sins. We cannot gloss over the fact that sin is a big deal. It cannot be overlooked. For in fact the gravity of sin and the torturing aspect of sin is something that the Son of God, Jesus Christ, had to address in coming into this world. So, what is sin and what is forgiveness? How is forgiveness possible and why is it important? These are questions that the Bible provides for us, and in having these questions answered, we can declare our faith in the forgiveness of our sins.
使徒信条の一部として、私たちは宣言します：「私は罪の赦しを信ず」。言い換えれば、神が私達の罪を赦してくださることを信じるということです。罪が大きな問題であるという事実を覆い隠すことはできません。見過ごすことはできないのです。実に、罪の重さ、罪の苦しみの側面は、神の子イエス・キリストがこの世に来られた時に対処する必要があったのです。では、罪とは何でしょうか、赦しとは何でしょうか。赦しはどのように可能で、なぜ重要なのでしょうか？これらは、聖書が私たちに答えを与えてくれる質問であり、これらの問いに答えることで、私達は罪の赦しに対する信仰を宣言することができるのです
