ここにいてくれてありがとう-Thank You for Being Here

Thank You for Being Here by Pastor Ichibei Honda

Charles Francis Adams, whose father and grandfather were Presidents John Quincy Adams and John Adams, was a 19th century political figure and diplomat, and he kept a diary. One day he entered: “Went fishing with my son today—a day wasted.” His son, Brooks Adams, also kept a diary, which is still in existence. On that same day, Brooks Adams made this entry: “Went fishing with my father—the most wonderful day of my life!” Have you ever said thank you to someone for just being with you? The mere presence of a person being with you is a great blessing. Whether it is in caring for a loved one who is dealing with an ailment, or being with a loved one who is healthy, we are grateful for their presence. Just being with them is a true blessing. How then should we respond to a God who promises us, “and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20)?
