"God’s Blessings Through Melchizedek" by Pastor Ichibei Honda
At SDJCC, we honor our church family members who are 80 years old and older on Keiro Sunday. We want to affirm that long life is a blessing from the Lord. In the Bible, long life is associated with a loving relationship with God. Thus, we want to celebrate that blessing with the elderly in our church family. In our relationship with God, we are recipients of many blessings. As we look at Melchizedek in this Sunday's worship service, we see how he blessed Abraham and blessed God who had delivered Abraham from his enemies. At the same time, as we will see through other passages of Scripture, Melchizedek has ties to Jesus Christ. Thus, we can in a sense say that we too are recipients of God's blessings through Melchizedek. For through Jesus Christ, we receive the blessings of long life and salvation, which ultimately is eternal life that He gives to us through faith in Him.

私達は長寿が主からの祝福であることを確認したいと思います。聖書では、長寿は神様との愛に満ちた関係に関連しています。ですから、私達の教会家族の８０歳以上の方々とその祝福を一緒にお祝いしたいのです。私達の神様との関係において、私達は多くの祝福を受けています。今週の日曜日の礼拝でメルキゼデクを見てみると、彼がどのようにアブラハムを祝福し、アブラハムを敵から救い出した神様を祝福したかがわかります。同時に、聖書の他の箇所を通して見るように、メルキゼデクはイエス・キリストともつながりがあります。したがって、ある意味、私たちもメルキゼデクを通して神の祝福を受けていると言えます。なぜなら、イエス・キリストによって、私たちは長寿と救いの祝福を受け、それは究極的には、彼を信じる信仰によって、彼が私たちに与えてくださる永遠の命だからです。
