“Paul: Mother-like Care of The Gentile Churches”

Paul described his and his co-laborers’ ministry among the Christians in the city of Thessalonica as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8). However, if you remember the back story regarding Paul, who before becoming a follower of Jesus Christ was a persecutor of those who followed Christ with a murderous zeal, you wonder how he became so gentle and loving and nurturing? For this message, we will look at Paul’s life and see how we can all have mother-like compassion for one another with God's help. May all of us, and especially mothers and mother-like figures be blessed and encouraged.
パウロは、テサロニケのクリスチャンたちに対する自分と同労者たちの働きを、乳母が自分の子供たちを慈しんで世話をするように、と表現しました。しかし、イエス・キリストの信者になる前、殺意さえ抱くほどの熱意をもってキリストに従う者たちを迫害していたパウロの過去を思い起こせば、彼がどうしてこれほど穏やかで、愛情深く、人を育むような人になったのか不思議に思うのではないでしょうか。今回のメッセージでは、パウロの生涯に目を向け、神様の助けにより私たち一人ひとりが互いに母のような慈しみを持ち合うことができるようになる方法について考えてみます。私たち皆、そして特に母親や母のような存在の方々が、祝福され、励まされますように。
