"Samuel: Judge, Priest, and Prophet"

For this message, we will look at Samuel, who was the last judge of Israel. As we saw last week, Samuel was born to Elkanah and Hannah. God answered Hannah’s prayer to be given a child, and as Hannah vowed, she dedicated Samuel to serve God. So, after Samuel was weaned, he was brought to Eli the priest in the house of the Lord in Shiloh to serve there. By lineage Elkanah was a Levite, a descendant of Kohath but not of the Aaronic line (1 Chronicles 6:26, 33). So, it would not have been unusual for Samuel, a Levite, to serve in the house of the Lord. We will look at how Samuel ministered as a judge, priest, and prophet.
このメッセージでは、イスラエルの最後の士師であったサムエルについて見ていきましょう。先週、見ましたように、サムエルはエルカナとハンナの間に生まれました。
神様はハンナの子を授かる祈りに応え、ハンナは誓いの通り、サムエルを神様に仕えるために捧げました。そこで、サムエルは乳離れした後、シロの主の家にいる祭司エリのもとに連れて行かれ、そこで仕えました。エルカナはレビ人であり、コハテの子孫でしたが、アロン系ではありませんでした（歴代志上６章２６節、３３節）。ですからレビ人であるサムエルが主の家に仕えることは珍しいことではありませんでした。サムエルがどのように士師、祭司、預言者として奉仕されたのかを見ていきましょう。
