“Andrew: Bringing People to Jesus”

Over the last few weeks, we have looked at people in the New Testament that were a big part of Jesus’ birth and family. Zechariah and Elizabeth, who in their old age were given a son John (a.k.a., John the Baptist), were related to Jesus through his mother Mary. John the Baptist who was like a cousin to Jesus. And we looked at Joseph, who as Jesus’ earthly father was instrumental to Jesus’ early upbringing in this world. Over the next few weeks, we will turn our attention to some of Jesus’ disciples and other people who were close to Jesus or were profoundly touched by Jesus’ teaching and ministry. Today, we will look at one of Jesus’ first disciples, Andrew.
ここ数週間、私たちは新約聖書に登場する、イエス様の誕生と家族に深く関わった人々を見てきました。年老いてから息子ヨハネ（別名、バプテスマのヨハネ）を与えられたザカリヤとエリサベツは、母マリアを通じてイエス様と親族関係にありました。バプテスマのヨハネは、いわばイエス様のいとこのような存在でした。そして、イエス様の地上の父として、この世でイエス様の幼少期の育成に重要な役割を果たしたヨセフを見てきました。これから数週間にわたり、イエス様の弟子たち、そしてイエス様に親しく接した人々、あるいはイエス様の教えや働きに深く感銘を受けた人々について注目していきます。今日はイエス様の最初の弟子の一人であるアンデレについて見ていきます。
