Worship Message Series

Happiness and Holiness

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2

Sermon Description:

Jesus invites all who are weary and heavy-laden to come to Him, learn from Him, and find rest in Him. The rest that we all want is not found in a method or way of living, but found in a relationship with the living God! Only Jesus can offer us eternal rest for our souls.

Sermon Description:

We have a tendency to seek things rather than God, that we believe will provide us happiness based on our desires.  These things that we pursue as substitutes rather than trusting in God, cannot deliver true happiness.  If we keep God first and foremost as the love of our life, then we will not be denied the joys and delights found in and provided by Him!

Sermon Description:

Jesus talked about "thorns" that choke us out of receiving the full blessings of being in relationship with God.  These thorns are worries, riches, and pleasures of this life that cannot ever fully satisfy.

Sermon Description:

Truly the crossroad of God’s holiness and happiness is realized where our lives interact with God! The amazing thing is that God is the one who meets us: reaching out to us, calling out to us, coming to us, indwelling us! Only by Him, through Him, and for Him, are we to be holy and happy!
