The Gospel According to Luke: The Challenge of God’s Love

Date: Sunday, September 15, 2019

Series Description:

The book called Luke in the Bible, was written by a Gentile believer named Luke, who was a close associate of the Apostle Paul. He set out to carefully investigate the truth concerning Jesus Christ, using the eyewitness accounts of those who were with and knew Jesus and His ministry. His intent in writing this Gospel was so that his readers would know the truth regarding Jesus and what they have been taught concerning Him. It is our hope in studying this Gospel, that we too would better understand the truth concerning Jesus, so that we may better know Him and make Him known to others.

Sermon Description:

We can give thanks to God for those in the church family who lovingly give of their time and energy and resources to serve the Lord and care for one another’s needs. In all of these things, we can see God’s love at work in the family of God. At the same time, if we are honest, we find it hard to love others, including our own family members, and much less those we may consider our enemies, with God’s love. This is the challenge that will be looked at as we look together at Luke 6:27-36, and consider the all encompassing work of God's love in our lives.
