Today is Pentecost Sunday. It is the day on the church calendar when we remember and celebrate the outpouring of the promised Holy Spirit upon Jesus’ disciples gathered in Jerusalem. As part of the Apostles’ Creed, we declare “I believe in the Holy Spirit,” which Pastor Okura spoke on a couple of Sundays ago. For the message in this Sunday’s worship service, we will affirm our faith in “the holy Christian church,” which was birthed when the Holy Spirit was poured out on Jesus’ disciples nearly 2000 years ago. We will look together at what it truly means to be the Church of Jesus Christ.

今日は五旬節の日曜日です。エルサレムに集まったイエスの弟子たちに約束された聖霊が注がれたことを覚え、祝う教会暦の日であります。使徒信条の一部として、私たちは「我は聖霊を信ず」と宣言します。このことについて大倉牧師が二週間前話してくださいました。今日のメッセージでは、約２０００年前にイエスの弟子たちに聖霊が注がれたときに誕生した「聖なる公同の教会」への私たちの信仰を確認します。イエス・キリストの教会であることの真の意味について、共に考えていきます。
